GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance)
Advisors: Mrs. Cox and Mr. Plezia

So excited to have Mr. Plezia co-advise GSA with Mrs. Cox this year!  Our plan is to meet Tuesdays at lunch in room 101 (Art Room) from 12:55-1:15 weekly.  No food or drink may be consumed during club meetings.

GSA seeks to create a safe and affirming space for Muirlands LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and their allies. We come together weekly to socialize and build community, leadership skills, and informed advocacy. We also share ways to increase the climate of safety and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ students in all their multi-faceted identities on our campus. Finally, we also seek to spread the message that ALL people deserve kindness, compassion and acceptance.

UNITED STUDENTS - Climate Awareness
Adviser: Mrs. Wehrli

Our plan is to meet Fridays at lunch in Room 302 from 12:50 to 1:15 p.m.  No food or drink may be consumed during club meetings.

US stands for United Students, we chose this name for our club because as students of Muirlands Middle School we are united as one. The CA in the name is now focusing on Climate Awareness. Please see our student-run website: climateaction.earth

We come together to create this amazing community of people of different races, genders, religions, sexuality, and backgrounds. In our daily lives we see, experience or hear about injustice on and off campus. In our club we discuss these injustices and share student work pertaining to issues that are important to them.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS:

CHESS CLUB
Advisor: Ms. Bujewski

Come in to Room 402 on Tuesdays from 3:20 to 4:30 and play chess with other students.  ALL levels of chess players are welcome! Boards and all equipment will be provided.

Come have fun learning new math tricks and sharpen your number sense with Math Counts, the Muirlands team that needs you to join us in victory when we compete against other area schools in the math competitions. We meet on Wednesdays in Room B4 from 3:20 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

  • American Mathematics Competitions (from Mathematical Association of America, Date TBD): maa.org/amc
